Social Exchange Theory

Social Exchange Theory, was created by Thibault, J.W & Kelley, H.H in 1952. The main focus of the theory are Cost, Reward and Resources. Cost means the negative value to a person (time, energy, stress). Rewards- means the opposite, the positive value to a person (attention, fun, happy moments). We all know that positive relationships are those which bring happiness, and negative are the ones that bring concerns; like for example costs.  This theory is something that every human being is inconstant struggling with. Everyone is seeking for happiness, pleasure and good moments (rewards). So in every society this is common to be found. Another thing is what its viewed as reward to a person could be viewed as cost for another one. due to the fact that each individual is different, and have different goals, not everything means the same to all.
